Baby Zach

Arrrrgggghhhhh. I just spent quite a while typing out a full account of the first couple of weeks with our new baby, including his slightly dramatic arrival, the subsequent NICU stay, and how we committed accidental deericide while driving home on dark country roads, and when I hit the Publish button, WordPress said, “Are you sure you want to do this?” and I said, “OF COURSE I want to do this!” I have no idea what I was actually agreeing to, because my post is now gone, and I don’t have the heart to type it all out again right now. Perhaps I will try again once I have been fortified with the iced coffee Mike is bringing me home when he and Ellie return from swimming lessons. In the meantime, I can tell you that Ellie was quite convinced that the new baby was going to be delivered to the front door one day like a pizza (every time the dog barked or the doorbell rang, she leapt up and ran for the door, shouting “Baby’s here!”) and man, wouldn’t that be great?
