I bought it the year before the ban that I guarantee will make the ants on top shrivel and die, the other ants carry them back to the home for a feast, and then they all die. This is how we dealt with the crazy big ants that were drilling into the tree by our driveway in the old house. Frankly, it's scary stuff I have in the garage...I read all about it on the internet before I mixed it up in my kitchen sink. But it's effective. You could apply it in the dead of night so there's no egging later. If that doesn't appeal, have you considered going to Home Hardware and asking what can be done? That's how we got the scary stuff.
