We got a lovely gift basket from the same real estate agent, but not an expensive painting. I am shocked and slightly appalled that he would ask you to do that.

I'm relieved you guys are just as horrified as I was ... I was a little worried people would respond with hand-patting and some condescending encouragement to just help the guy break the law already.

Lindsay - I hate that guy. One day I saw an entire line of cars band together and not let that guy merge back onto the highway and it was highly satisfying.

Hahahahahahahahaha....

This was my laugh for the day.

I'm glad that people really do things like that! I've "fibbed" for friends for job references (yah, I was their manager... not just a co-worker), but these were close friends - not business associates wanting me to aide their Federal Criminal activity.

Oh, I'm still laughing, seriously, I am happy that Mike sent the email back to the real estate agent, yet I'm sure he will find SOMEONE to lie for him.

It is akin to those jackasses who drive on the shoulder when traffic is backed up, expecting someone to let them over at the last second because they are "too good to wait in line like everyone else" and therefore further the bottleneck effect. They know they can do it because SOMEONE will let them in, and SOMEONE always does.

Thanks for the laugh!

Oh my God. I am shocked. SHOCKED that your real estate agent would do that! Besides being totally dishonest, what a stupidhead! I mean, what are the odds you're going to call him now when you do decide to sell? He just lost thousands of dollars in commission to save maybe a few hundred by cheating on his taxes... Serves him right though, really.
