You’re right, it is “A Doll’s House” not “The Dollhouse”. They should take my degree away! This is also embarrassing to admit (on account of it is not at all literary) but when you mentioned the character ending up where she started out, I immediately thought of the series finale of “Who’s The Boss”.

I will get right on that Canadian politicians thing, but will need to do some research first. (Good thing I don’t have a poli sci degree or they’d take that away too.)

More A Doll’s House (Ibsen, right?) than the Devil Wears Prada. And also more Under the Tuscan Sun (because I like travel).

I would also be open to a plot which involves the main character ending up exactly where she started.

I would like to read a story about a woman who, after doing all the ‘right’ things in life, discovers that she is not fulfilled in the way that she believes she deserves to be and, after some drama, completely reinvents herself and finds fulfillment.

[Ahem. This has absolutely no connection to me or my current frame of mind. None. At all. ]

Alternately, I would also like to read a story about a boy astronaut and his pet iguana, Theodore. The boy and Theodore regularly travel through space, meeting creatures and learning about life; social commentary ensues.

Lindsay – when I first read your comment, the list of ideas kind of blurred together and I was shocked and horrified you were considering writing smutty children’s books.

Pam – perhaps I will just have to take you up on that. Perhaps borrowing the opiated experiences of someone else is the key to success.

Misha – no plans at all. That’s sort of the problem.

There’s no such thing as writer’s block: it’s more of a drainage of ideas. I find that when you get to that point you need to take a slight deviation, or a complete change of task if that’s necessary. You know what? I’m trying to write a book too. I’m at chapter 12 right now, but a few are just two page chapters . Do you have any plans for this novel you’re trying to write?

Oh man, I have such a ridiculous wealth of things in my life I want to write about, from children’s books to smutty adult fiction and everything in between, I just can’t seem to find the time to sit down and write – and when I do have the time, I always feel like I should be doing something else, so I usually leave the computer to do dishes, or some other inane task.
